We just wanted to tell you a little story about what happened to us last weekend. For all of you not familiar with the Broughty Ferry - it sits at the mouth of the River Tay which flows into the North Sea. When we get a nice day it is usually tempered by the cooling winds from the sea which to all intents and purposes negates the effects from the sun. Now that you know this, lets return to the kernel of our story. Last Saturday we had the ultimate in perfect conditions that made us think that we were in some mediterranean seaside town. This of course made it very busy - so busy in fact that when the till had had its fill of money and cards and was perfectly content we decided to go home early and enjoy the pleasures from mother nature.
We then put up a sign saying we had closed early and like the sheriffs' of the wild west stated we had Gone Fishing.
This apparently tickled so many of the passers by over the weekend that when we opened again on the Monday morning we had a mini queue of customers who had been so intoxicated by our 'advert" that they came in to purchase goods from us and could not help but talk about our little sign over and over again.
Here at Calico Brook we are intuitive and respond to things as well as people in a very natural and dynamic way so it did come as quite as surprise when we got such a positive and pleasant reaction. If you were one of those passers by who saw our sign we would love to hear from you. For all of our other readers not in the Ferry hope your Saturday was as good as ours and that someone was watching over all of you and yours.
Love from all at Calico Brook
