As we are in hustings mode just now and everyone is after your vote, we thought it might be a good time to see how all of our Calico Brook supporters would like this offer which is about to be tabled.

As you know we have had our new website redesigned and it has been chuntering along nicely but we would like to build a better head of steam and one of our thoughts was that we should not be charging for delivery of our larger items such as chairs, mirrors and artworks etc. for reasons such as insurance, special delivery, 2 man lift items we have to bear these costs which if we were in the shop and you as a customer simply collected these items we would not have incurred these costs.

So, what we propose to do is that from now we will monitor the difference in both web traffic and order levels to see if there is a corresponding link between higher sales volumes and the associated costs in getting high value items safely and securely to you.

Right now, it is up to you as customers to vote with your wallet - if you want free delivery along with the benefits of dealing with an established business with a bricks and mortar shop front as well as an online one then we hope to hear from you very soon indeed.

Calico Brook goes Commercial!

Calico Brook has operated a retail boutique store in Broughty Ferry for the past 4 years. During this time we have been styling the homes of private clients which has included sourcing one off pieces of furniture to complete makeovers. Our reputation for style, quality, attention to detail and personal service has helped to develop our client base and enabled us to expand in to the commercial market.

Calico Brook “pieces” can now be seen in a number of high profile commercial enterprises as a result of our customised furniture: art: mirrors and accessories hiring service. We were also commissioned to supply furniture and accessories for Westport Luxury Serviced Apartments which is a stunning new venture in Dundee.

As the recession eases, particularly for the property market, Calico Brook can now offer home builders a cost effective show home solution to match their customer demographic. Not only can Calico Brook provide a stylish furniture package, we will also add these extra special finishing touches to create that all important wow factor. Calico Brook will provide a dedicated design co-ordinator ensuring that each project is afforded the personal service and dedication that we have built our reputation upon.

At Calico Brook we like to work with our customers and clients to make sure that we are clear on the brief, timescale and budget thus avoiding disappointment on either side. However, we recognise that most people and organisations like information regarding costs, so to give an indication, please find overleaf an example of a standard 1 bedroom property furniture hire package which you can use as a guide. Please do not hesitate to contact us for individual pricing information for your project.

Calico Brook can provide a bespoke or standard furniture rental service. Our standard rental packages start from £700 per month for a 1 bedroom property. We can provide an individual quote to suit your budget for all your show home requirements.

Devine, darling, fabulous........I can go on forever!  Our Cinderella range from Philippi includes the most wonderful cake server with a magnetic heel that can be removed to make it easier to slice a lovely piece of cake!  And the little cinderella espresso spoons are so cute (oops I am off again!).   To go with these fabulous cinderella pieces our 3 tier glass heart cake stand from Culinary Concepts will make your coffee and cake with the girls/ladies so "sex in the city"!

Chaise Longue

Well I had only just completed my window to showcase an amazing bespoke mini chaise longue that was dark brown with bright green and shocking pink thistles on it (yes you heard me) bold pattern indeed.  Does not sound that fabulous I hear you say, but believe me it was stunning.  Anyway, getting back to my story - in the window Wednesday afternoon and out and delivered to very happy customer Thursday morning!  I did not even get time to photograph it to let you see!  Not that I am complaining, it is exactly the response I had hoped for, I soon as I saw the mini chaise, I fell in love with it - devine!

Thank goodness I had some new chairs on order and a hasty window change was required!

We have lift off!

I am delighted to tell you that, finally, our new look website is live.  We are still busy populating the site with our product range, but rest assured it has been worth the wait! 

You can shop by brand if you find it easier and it is certainly worth checking out some of our new brands.

Our fabulous collection of chairs can be found in Living and as I said earlier, we will be adding to the range over the next few days.

In store, our new stock will be arriving very soon - it is so exciting, so keep watching our window for a fabulous new look and perhaps even a bright splash of colour - well after all, hot colours are really on trend!

Bailey comes to Calico Brook

Over the last 4 years we have been always quite outspoken about the products and services that we have thoughtfully selected for your delectation. However last week we added a new member to Calico Brook but now we have surpassed ourselves, so without any further ado we proudly present Mr. Bailey - or Button to his nearest and dearest - namely his proud mum and dad. Bailey the cockapoo, is only 9 weeks old and we have only been looking after him for a week or so but it is quite clear that already he has a very strong personality. Clearly, we do not have to understand the language of dog because it apparent he clearly understands English. He knows his name, can sit like an expert pooch and can go out and attend to his dog business without any bother at all - only because he expects to receive his appropriate reward of a mini treat for being so good.
Of course not only has he has been in the shop but he has been in the window and we have had so may of our customers coming in to ask "how much is that doggy in the window" and Bailey has not only enjoyed meeting and greeting his public but the sheer number of little children that have been in to get a cuddle is really amazing. They love him and he reciprocates in kind by giving them licks and cuddles.
Mr. Bailey will be looking forward to seeing you all over the next few weeks or months - that is of course when he is not resting or out on manoeuvres.
